Background

Over the last 15 years, David has specialised in senior roles in major plant research organisations. He has acted as Operations Director for IBERS at Aberystwyth University; as Managing Director of NIAB EMR; and has recently stepped down as Chief Operating Officer for NIAB. He continues to oversee a £50m capital project for NIAB which has involved the sale and redevelopment of its Cambridge assets. He has extensive experience of managing change in large organisations as well as management of major acquisitions. In the 8 years he has worked at NIAB, David has developed a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers in UK food production and a deep understanding of the UK supply sector. Over the years, he has held a Royal Warrant and won the Queen’s Award for Export.
